The biggest problem with streaming video is the large amont of bandwidth that it requires. Google hopes to solve this problem through its acquision of On2. There is amazing implications for the future of IPTV (as opposed to cable) with this technology. I also hope Slingbox realizes the potential this has for their mobile phone application.
On2’s technology will enable us to stream Blu-ray and HDTV (bandwidth hogs) videos through traditional broadband networks to our TV, mobile phones and computers faster and cheaper.
Great post. Almost every startup outside of the Silicon Valley has this complex.
Shed light over the face of the Earth.

Navigating the social web — or as @gary puts it “business” — and understanding the effects of social media on traditional business can be a very time consuming process for many CEOs to figure out on their own.
In the past, twenty-somethings were better known for their status as the lowest rung on the ladder. Now, Generation Y brings an entirely new savviness to business and CEOs are starting to notice. I, for one, would love to be a mentor. Do you know of anyone who is a mentor to a CEO?
This is what would happen if the Federal Government opened up and standardized their data to be made sense by hackers.
I didn’t even have time to blink as this new post from VentureBeat ripped my face off! Check it out… V-Vehicles, backed by John Doerr (of Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers) and T. Boone Pickens, is going to hit the Efficient Vehicle Market where it hurts most- in the wallet.
Affordability has been the missing link, so if V-Vehicles can pull this off in the 18-month timeframe it is suggesting (already opening a plant in Louisiana), it is going to crush Tesla and Coda. V-Vehicles has already received tons of funding, and now they are going to receive $67 million in state incentives AND apply for a part of the Dep of Energy’s $25 billion Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Loan Program.
Man, I would love to sit down with Frank Varasano, Founder and CEO at V-Vehicles.
